What do the Lottery Execution Settings Do?

In the SETTINGS module under the LOTTERY tab you will see a series of lottery execution settings available for your management. (Note: The difference between these settings and the Accept/Decline Placement settings is the Lottery Execution settings happen while the lottery is run and is based on where the student is placed. The Accept/Decline Placement settings happen only if the student accepts a placement after being placed on the offered list.)

Auto-decline student's applications on selected list ranked as lower choice if offered higher ranked choice

If this setting is checked, it would automatically decline lower ranked choices if the student was placed on the offered list into a higher ranked school. For example, if the student had 3 choices and was offered a seat in choice 1, it would auto-decline their applications on the OFFERED LIST for choice 2 and 3.

If this setting is checked, it would automatically decline lower ranked choices if the student was placed on the offered list into a higher ranked school. For example, if the student had 3 choices and was offered a seat in choice 1, it would auto-decline their WAITING LIST applications for choice 2 and 3. 

NOTE - IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PROCESS WHERE A STUDENT IS ACCEPTED AT 1 CHOICE, YOU WANT ALL OTHER LOWER RANKED CHOICES TO BE AUTO DECLINED BOTH OF THESE SETTINGS NEED TO BE CHECKED.

If this setting is checked, it would automatically decline higher ranked waiting list choices if the student was placed on the offered list into a lower ranked school. For example, if the student had 3 choices and was wait listed in choice 1 and offered a seat in choice 2, it would auto-decline their WAITING LIST apps for choice 1. 

NOTE -IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PROCESS WHERE A STUDENT IS ACCEPTED AT 1. CHOICE YOU WANT ALL  OTHER CHOICES (REGARDLESS OF RANK) TO BE AUTO DECLINED ALL 3 OF THESE SETTINGS NEED TO BE CHECKED.
